Survey November 2016In
November 2016 the Town Council carried out a survey seeking the views
of residents. It is now reviewing the Five-Year Strategy (see below)
using the information it has gathered.

StrategyOn 11 May 2016 the Town Council approved its Strategic Review and Action Plan 2016-2020
Land on Engine LaneIn November 2015 the Town Council agreed to enter into negotiations with Barratt Homes regarding a proposed development of land on Engine Lane. The following documents provide the background. On 10 May the Town Council is considering a draft proposal from Barratt Homes for housing development on Council-owned land on Engine Lane: click here for details.

Freedom of InformationThe Town Council is committed to making information publicly available both on this web-site and from the Council office in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, 2000 and the Information Commissioner's Model Publication Scheme 2008, the Town Council has a Publication Scheme, which is available here.
Information that is not current is stored at the Heritage Centre in Taunton (formerly the Somerset Records Office).
National GridThe Town Council is part of the Nailsea Against Pylons Group which accepts the need for additional electricity transmission capacity in the UK, but believes that National Grid should be considering alternatives to conventional pylons, particularly the option of underground installations. The Council supports the report by Professor Claus Neumann, which was commissioned by Wraxall and Failand Parish Council, and promotes the use of Gas Insulated Line (GIL) technology. The report can be obtained here.
